Children's Services

BCSTH provides support to 90 Children Who Witness Abuse (CWWA) Programs and those providing prevention and intervention services in BC schools through the Violence Is Preventable Project.

Some of our Children’s Services include:

  • Creation of new materials for CWWA programs
  • Providing support and guidance to members as needed
  • Responding to emerging issues presented by members
  • Keeping members updated on emerging practices, issues from other jurisdictions
  • Developing and delivering training to CWWA Counsellors
  • Hosting sector-wide conference calls
  • Providing a library of resources to Members at no cost
  • Publication of the Communiqué a provincial intersectoral newsletter
  • Monitoring changes to laws about violence against women, youth and children
  • Educating, on behalf of our Members, government and other influential stakeholders
  • Ongoing public education and prevention activities
