Women's Services
BCSTH provides support to Transition, Second and Third Stage Houses, Safe Homes and other programs in the Violence Against Women’s sector. Some of our Women’s Services include:
- Research, writing position papers and the creation of Promising Practices
- Providing support and guidance to members as needed
- Responding to emerging issues presented by members
- Keeping members updated on emerging practices, issues from other jurisdictions
- Developing and delivering training to front line workers
- Hosting sector-wide conference calls
- Providing a library of resources to Members at no cost
- Publication of the Communiqué a provincial intersectoral newsletter
- Monitoring changes to laws about violence against women, youth and children
- Educating, on behalf of our Members,government and other influential stakeholders
- Ongoing public education and prevention activities
