Women's Services

BCSTH provides support to Transition, Second and Third Stage Houses, Safe Homes and other programs in the Violence Against Women’s sector. Some of our Women’s Services include:

  • Research, writing position papers and the creation of Promising Practices
  • Providing support and guidance to members as needed
  • Responding to emerging issues presented by members
  • Keeping members updated on emerging practices, issues from other jurisdictions
  • Developing and delivering training to front line workers
  • Hosting sector-wide conference calls
  • Providing a library of resources to Members at no cost
  • Publication of the Communiqué a provincial intersectoral newsletter
  • Monitoring changes to laws about violence against women, youth and children
  • Educating, on behalf of our Members,government and other influential stakeholders
  • Ongoing public education and prevention activities
